Pastry for 1-crust pie
5 to 6 tart apples
½ cup sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup brown sugar
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ cup butter
- Line 9-inch pie pan with pastry.
- Arrange sliced apples in pastry shell.
- Sprinkle sugar over apples.
- Combine flour, brown sugar & cinnamon, cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly.
- Sprinkle mixture over apples.
- Bake in hot oven at 425 degrees for 15 minutes, reduce heat to 375 degrees and cook for another 30 minutes.
